In April, Chinook Roofing will be approaching phase 2 of the Point Ruston project

As Pierce County’s Point Ruston development continues to take shape, Chinook Roofing will be completing a commercial roofing project in an urban hot spot offering a theater, restaurants, and stores.

Sitting alongside the shore, Point Ruston is a picturesque town near Tacoma. Developers plan to complete the Point Ruston village this May, debuting luxury housing and recreational amenities for visitors and residents.

Watch the video below for aerial footage of the large-scale project at Point Ruston. If you look closely, you can see Chinook Roofing professional installers finishing work the gently peaked roofs. The first phase of building will soon be completed, with the second phase beginning in April.

How Is Commercial Roofing Different?

Simply based on size, the scope of commercial roofing projects is vastly different from residential. Commercial buildings are typically much larger than homes and have different roofing needs, including precise specifications and strict industrial requirements. Commercial roofs must be constructed strategically and reliably, and assessed on a regular basis, which is why Chinook Roofing offers a SEAL Maintenance Program that evaluates all aspects of a roof, from base flashings to water build up.

Commercial roofing has the potential to affect even hundreds of visitors, residents, or employees during repairs, so careful maintenance is key to monitoring and fixing small problems before they require a full roof replacement or affect the safety of those inside.

Villa Costella’s flavorful and historic exterior

Chinook Roofing & Gutters is proud to be a part of local commercial projects. We installed a roof on Seattle’s Villa Costella, Queen Anne condominiums with strong historical influences. Though the Villa Costella was originally built in 1929, its current roof system is single-ply, a durable, tightly-sealed system for combatting Washington weather, without detracting from the building’s rich aesthetic.
