Here at Chinook Roofing & Gutters, we love keeping up with the latest innovations in roofing technology. Recently, we saw the green roofing movement push ahead once more with the addition of an innovative roofing material on a university building on the other side of the country.
This fall, the University of Pittsburgh’s Posvar Hall will be outfitted with a new roofing material called Eco-Activ Waterproofing Holder that reportedly “eats pollution,” according to the University Times. The material, manufactured by Siplast, is a membrane covered with mineral granules which essentially break up certain air pollutants, rendering them harmless, the article explained.
